Arkell vs. Pressdram (1971)

Dear London Shite team,

In replying to London Lite's threats I would refer them to the case of Arkell vs. Pressdram (1971), which funnily enough comes up in a very similar context to your case on the letters page (p13) of Private Eye, #1221.

If UKMetro think commuters can’t tell the difference between their publication and a "load of shite", then they/ we really are in trouble!

Best wishes,

Feck funny

Was the person who stole your name posing in a white t-shirt looking a bit like Jonny Burrell standing outside a tube with a placard? I got sent the pic a while back and have always wondered what it is was in aid of?

Funny that the legal dept of LL has been in touch with you. I guess you're not too surprised. I love the way they get so feckin precious about their product - not sure how many of their readers will be looking out for satire on the web, so their precious trademark might well be safe

btw, no council has enforced any 'charges' on the freesheets yet. There are numerous voluntary schemes, but they don't add up to much

P.S. love the nutrition chart... feck funny

What a load of dog ***!

NEW!!! 'London Shite' is a satirical reflection of the state of the London Borough of Newham and Greater London, embodied within the weekday rubbish, freebie newspapers passed off to commuters as genuine news.
