At the close of 2006 the Stratford Guardian ceased publication leaving only two newspapers in Newham, the Newham Recorder and Stratford & Newham Express (a free sheet) - both papers owned by the Archant Group.

Newham needs more scrutiny
Well done on your newspaper. The Gun Crime game is very current and clever.
I worked in Newham for 5 years and the main local paper, Newham Recorder was full on nonsense, mainly of local Councillors shaking oldies hands, hardly any scrutiny of the Council (who are one of the worst in the country). Journalism at its worst.
Did you know the Editor of Newham Recorder is the same as Newhams only other paper Stratford & Newham Express? It stinks.
It's little wonder Newham is such a dull place to live.
Keep up the good work, humour is powerful tool.

London Shite's the bomb!
Just read about you guys in Time Out- this is too funny! You guys should work in advertising or something. This is exactly what Newham needs.

What a load of dog ***!

- NEW!!! 'London Shite' is a satirical reflection of the state of the London Borough of Newham and Greater London, embodied within the weekday rubbish, freebie newspapers passed off to commuters as genuine news.
